We are the world vs. pregiudizio.

Ethnic prejudice, research says, increases in times of economic crisis. This is also the case when disasters or impending disasters occur.
That’s what’s happening, you see.
One of the major scholars of the phenomenon was Allport. His essay The Nature of Prejudice is from 1954. Prejudice has at its base a malevolent thought about a group, malevolent but also incorrect thought, it is a distortion of thought. It presupposes a lack of competence, rather than a competence in the possession of a detached observer, not emotionally involved.
When something disturbs us, we activate mental patterns that prevent us from making efforts. In order not to fall into generalization and categorization, it is necessary to have a remarkable mental openness and the ability to suspend judgment (epoché).
In order not to fall victim to prejudices we must therefore strive, open our minds, be curious, know...In short, it is a fatigue. For this reason it is easy to spread prejudice and we are less accustomed to reflect (and these are not times that facilitate this operation) and the more we are prey to visions of the world that deresponsibilize us; how to find the scapegoat, The external enemy to whom we attribute all the evil that happens to us, allows us not to question ourselves and to remain "clean" in the eyes of our false conscience.
We must look ourselves in the face, as the sociologist Edgard Morin wrote (Il pensiero ecologizzato, 1990), realize the gravity of the situation and realize that from the point of view of human relations we are still in prehistory. We have everything to learn.
For the great Indian thinker Krishnamurti the only revolution would occur when the flow of egoism ends (1977), when we will be able to identify ourselves with the world, see clearly its enormous disorder, all that is false...remove the veil of Maya. "The process we feel outside us is, indeed, in us because we are the world, We are the world as a beautiful and famous song sings.
